What I love the most about Elf Cosmetics is that they’re an affordable “drug store” brand, and the quality of their products never ceases to amaze me. I have been wanting to try Elf’s Face Primer Collection for a while now, I just wasn’t 100% sure which one I should try first. In the end, I finally decided on trying Elf’s Poreless Face Primer because the size of my pores will always be an issue for me. Here is how Elf’s Poreless Face Primer turned out for me:
On the first day that I tried this product, there were multiple pleasant surprises that occurred. First, I would like to point out that the bottle has a pump. Bravo Elf! Pump applicators are always an amazing way to get bonus points.
I must say, one full pump is almost more than enough for half of your face. A little goes a long way. This product’s formula had a very light and energizing fragrant and a cooling sensation that helps you to wake up in the morning. The formula’s consistency and texture is also similar to Benefit’s Porefessional Face Primer; however, it isn’t as thick, so you have to rub the product longer for it to fully absorb into your skin.
After I applied my foundation, concealer, and powder, I noticed instantly that i had more of a matte airbrush finish, and the product did what it was intended to do. My pores were practically gone, and my skin looked seamless.
Elf’s Poreless Face Primer kept my makeup together and helped it last longer. During the first day of using this product, I also went to they gym during my break period between classes. Through all the sweat, my makeup was still in tact and there was no sliding, except for under the eyes. But, naturally, the skin around my eyes is oilier than the rest of my face, so that was expected.
By the end of the day (after school, going to the gym, and work), without any touchups or powder, around 9:00 PM, my skin appeared more oily than usual around that time, but it was okay because I wasn’t anywhere except for home.
Overall, I really liked this product, and for $6.00 at my nearest drugstore, or Target/ Walmart, it was money well spent. After reducing the amount that I used on my face for the second and third time that I used this product, the amount of oiliness at the end of the day decreased. I just have to make sure that the product is fully absorbed into my skin before applying my full coverage makeup.
I love elf, and I’m expecting great things from them.
