Meet Meg & Simply Different~ || #FeatureFriday

Founded in 2010, ‘Simply Different’ was once known locally as ‘a little piece of heaven’ based in Coleshill, in Birmingham. After the loss of her father, Cara closed the shop to gain the time she needed for healing. Her daughter, Megan then restarted the magic, letting Simply Different live on, which then grew to the little online world of wonder that is today. 

The shop is filled with gifts and treasures for the Mind, Body & Soul sourced from all over the world, from handmade jewelry, to healing crystals, & bohemian gifts for the home. Simply Different is the page you visit when your heart needs healing love, your soul needs some light and your mind needs a little magic. The shop was created with loving intentions, and with the hope to promote ‘embracing difference’ in every customer. 

Each order is personally handmade, handpicked and gift wrapped with all the glitter, ribbon and packaging your heart could want.

I had so much fun interviewing Meg, and Simply Different — it’s such a huge honor for My Authentic Nature to be one of the first blogs to interview the beauty and brains behind Simply Different!

Here are 10 random questions I asked Meg– so get to know her, and some secrets behind the magic which is Simply Different:

1. Coffee or tea? what’s your favourite kind of coffee/ tea?
Hm, this is a tough one. Both tea & coffee have a soft spot in my heart!! But, I’m a lover of Green Tea — always.

2. Are you currently in school? If so, what’s your major?
I left school three years ago, I started doing photography from school for a little while, then began the ‘Simply Different’ magic. 

3. What’s your inspiration for new pieces for Simply Different?
When looking for inspo, I’m always looking into the ‘current’ trends obviously, but I like to go and search for something a lil different, or a different switch to add to the pieces in order to make them unique to others. ‘Bohemian’, ‘Gypsy’, and ‘Earth-Child’ like styles are my main go-to for inspiration.

4. Do you hand-make each piece?
Nearly all of the jewelry is handmade by me in the office or another member of our little team. Majority of the crystals, bohemian home-ware, and other magical trinkets are sourced from around the word. This can range from mystical places like Bali, India, Brazil and many more.

5. What’s your favourite animal? 
I love all animals, but always think Elephants are cute!! It’s hard to pick a favourite.

6. If you had to pick one, would you pick: jewelry, clothes, shoes, or makeup? 
I do love makeup, but I’ve been trying to keep it quite natural recently. I’m probably a clothes lover.  

7. What’s your favorite product for Simply Different? 
Omg, this is tough. I’m biased so I love everything the shop hehe. But currently I’m loving the hippie henna kits, they’re perfect for getting started with body art & make it so much easier to learn.

8. What’s your favorite colour?
I have always loved red.

9. Which do you prefer: breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner? 
I’m not much of a breakfast person, and tend to skip straight to lunch. So I’d say I’m a ‘lunch’ person!

10. What camera do you use to take your pictures? 
Believe it or not, nearly all of my snaps are taken straight from my iPhone! When I’m not using this, I’ll use my Nikon.
