Summer Jams 2017

This summer has been busy, as you’ve noticed from my inactivity. With the conclusion of my travels, and with school quickly approaching, I really want to get back into my groove with posting twice a week.

Regardless of how my summer has been, these five tracks have been on constant replay, and it’s driving my siblings insane.

  1. Perfect by Ed Sheeran  (Lisa Cimorelli + Tyler Ward Cover)
This is by far one of my favorite ballads of all time, and will probably be used during my wedding in the future. I just love the sincerity and mellowness of the original track, and the amazing harmonies and slight change in lyrics, to incorporate the feelings of both persons, in the cover.

  2. Wine by Suran
This track was produced by Agust D, and I am in love. Suran’s voice is so soothing, and unique. This track is just one to listen to while getting ready for the day, or winding down before bed.

  3. Palette by IU
IU has been my ultimate favorite female artist ever since my middle-school years, and she never ceases to amaze me with her voice. Her voice is suitable for people of all ages, and I believe she is still the leading female soloist in Korea. I highly recommend listening to her whole album.

    .
  4. Dinosaur by AKMU
This sibling duo has been one of my all-time favorites since their appearance on KPopStar. Their vocal range and versatility is just mind blowing, and they never disappoint with their songwriting and compositions. Dinosaur is a take on a more western sound, but regardless, it’s on repeat.

    .
  5. Take Me by Miso
This summer is just full of mellow and calming jams. I discovered Miso while listening to multiple k-indie playlists, and I am in awe. Not only is her English impeccable, her voice just takes you to another world. I am definitely keeping tabs on this upcoming artist.

    .

Most of these tracks are by Korean artists, but I just love how their are composed and produced. Not to mention, it’s a nice break from overplayed radio tracks.

If you would like me to start a music series, do let me know.

Let me know your summer repeats down in the comments below!

Sincerely, Joslyn
