Peachy Academy: Introduction

Hello loves and welcome to a new series!

As the title implies, this is a school and study series. If you read my update post on 04-24-21, then you know that I was accepted into physical therapy school and will begin later this fall. Education has always been a big part of my upbringing, and I have tried to share my experiences via YouTube. However, it was far from adequate (it was actually quite terrible…).

So, in today’s post, I will be introducing Peachy Academy!

I understand that school and academics vary on one’s priority list. Nevertheless, I hope that we can become study pals. Whether you are learning for fun, part-time, full-time, or are just curious, I invite you to join me!

I have always been passionate about the category of academics. Not necessarily about how to be the perfect student, but to be honest and candid about such themes. There are many topics that can be discussed within this series, and my intention is to keep it as open as possible.

As a child of tiger parents, who were also immigrant children, doing well in school was instilled into my very core. However, as I grew older, I realized how lonely and stressful this road was. Although education was at the center of discussion in my family and friend groups, I felt as if I could not truthfully discuss my perspectives and emotions in their entirety.

This series exists to share my experiences and reflections as a tool to help someone. I want to be the person that I wish I had when enduring times of extreme academic pressure and stress.

Along the way, I intend to talk about my journey with physical therapy school applications. I understand that this is a very specific area of interest, but it is a significant part of my academic career. Within this niche, I want to discuss various aspects of the application process and share some insight that I have gathered along the way.

So far, I plan to share:

  • My academic background
  • Private vs. public school (student’s POV)
  • Undergrad through the years
  • My breaking point
  • GRE tips and tricks
  • Student of physical therapy journey (overview)
  • Detailed three-year application experience
  • Interview experience / tips and tricks
  • Office / study space tour
  • Study vlogs

This is a continuous and open series. If, along the way, you would like me to talk about anything, please let me know! This space was aimed to be a place of discussion and a resource of some sort.

With that being said, I hope you have a wonderful day/evening!
Until next time loves~

with love, joslyn
