#042522: Grad School Update

hello loves! long time, no see!

it has been around seven months since my last post, and to be completely honest, i forgot that i had various social media platforms to manage. as many of you know, i started graduate school and am pursing my doctorate of physical therapy.

school in itself has been challenging, especially this previous trimester. therefore, i have not had much time to dedicate to myself, much less my hobbies. however, that is not what i want. what i experienced with my emotions and mental state was similar to my undergraduate career, and that is something that i did not want to go back to.

so, i will try my hardest to find a better balance this next trimester. for starters, i need to get back to journaling regularly but sometimes it is difficult to pick up a pen and write legibly when i don’t necessarily have to. so, maybe i will use my blog as a digital journal as well!

anyways, life around school has been hectic. i decided to run for an officer position for one of the university’s organizations, and planning for events and managing things are apart of my responsibilities for the rest of the year. so far, we have had roughly three successful events. however, we are lacking in certain areas compared to our predecessors. so, i will be working harder to help fulfill those responsibilities.

this trimester was challenging as we, as a cohort, had to juggle our last term of general anatomy and musculoskeletal I: introduction to orthopedics. anatomy is demanding in itself, but to pair it with MSK was too much to handle. MSK is one of our first “real” courses where we have to apply different ways of thinking and utilize new terminology and skills. now that i have successfully completed the course, the material taught was not as challenging as i had originally thought. however, the course structure made it difficult to make improvements in terms of your grade percentages.

my program is also very specific with certain details that other program may not focus much on. regardless, a good majority of the class struggled together, and i found comradery in other classmates. so far, i have not heard of any bad news — which i am grateful for.

for the next two weeks, i will be off and recuperating for the next trimester. for the next term, i will be in two neurologic courses, MSK II, differential diagnosis, pharmacology, and a couple others. it will be a crammed term, similar to this previous one, but i am determined to be ahead and on top of my studies and asynchronous material. i am nervous for the intensity, but i am more prepared for it compared to the previous.

in the meantime, i hope to work on some of my hobbies and get back to doing things that i enjoy in my free-time!

for this next week, i will be preoccupied with work and visiting family members, but for the most part, i plan to be more active on M.A.N. and my other social media outlets. in regards to my blog, i plan to be more relaxed with it. for the longest time, i was concerned about the theme, the look, and the overall content that i was interested in writing in. when i first created this platform, it was based off my interests and what i wanted to talk about — without anything too specific.

surprisingly, it did really well (all things considered)! so, i wish to return to that mindset.

i hope you will join me in my little corner of the internet! until next time~

with love, Joslyn

study vlog ep.1 ✎ prepping for grad school

Hello loves! I know that posting on a Thursday is a little random, but I have been working on this vlog for quite some time now and was wanting too share it with you! Recently, I have been working on my Peachy Academy series where I go into detail about my educational experiences. Although this specific post is more for entertainment, I do mention and include some study aids that I liked using as an undergraduate student!

In this study vlog, I share with you some of the ways I have been prepping for physical therapy school. There are many things that are needed in order to prepare for graduate school, especially if you are like me and have been out of school for some time. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this post and let me know what you would like to see next!

2021 has thrown us so many curve balls, and i am exhausted from it all.
anyways, hello loves!

i know it has been a while since i last posted on this platform, but know that i have been fairly absent from my social media presence.
in my last update, i had been very enthusiastic in terms of getting my brand cleaned up and functional again. however, many things have happened since my last update….

in today’s post, i will be going into more detail about what’s been happening, and i also wanted to share a vlog i had been working on for a while. the vlog will briefly mention the events that occurred after our initial move, but i will go into more detail below.

Vlogmas 2020: Week 1

hello loves, i hope you have been well!

it has been a couple of weeks since my last post — life has been fairly hectic in the last week, or so.
with the holiday season upon us, i thought things in my private life would start to slow down, but it has been a whirlwind of events since we last spoke.

regardless, i decided to participate in vlogmas this year! i will be uploading a weekly vlog throughout the month of december. i am excited, but also very nervous for this project . . . as you know, i am not the best when it comes to posting on a regular schedule, but this project is a great exercise to try and get into the groove of creating, editing, and uploading in a timely manner!

i am already behind on uploading the first week’s video . . . but, here it is:

(i hope you guys enjoy it!)

life is starting to settle down (for now), and i figured that i would finally write a post! for starters:

  1. today is my birthday!

for those who did not know, today is my birthday, and i am twenty-four today. so, in today’s post, i will tell you twenty-four things about me.
this post will mark a new age — as cheesy as it might be, it is also the truth. in the last couple of weeks, many things have been quickly happening, and i will definitely let you all know what is going on, as soon as i know the results!

so far this year, i have neglected my blog, and i feel like there is a disconnect between me and all of you! so anyways, let’s get started!

23 OTHER FACTS BELOW!

Apps that are Helping Me Survive Self-Isolation

hello loves, and welcome to this week’s post~
i know that i am posting on a monday, but this is due to the fact that Easter was yesterday, and my procrastination got the best of me. although i did not do anything special for Easter this year, i was chained to my desk doing assignments, lectures, and readings.

anyways, this week’s post is dedicated to all of the apps that have helped me get through this challenging time. outside of your typical social media outlets (such as instagram, twitter, and snapchat), there are other applications that have been keeping me preoccupied, and have prevented me from just laying in bed all day.

this blog post will be highlighting six apps which i utilize between all of my apple products:

Let’s Talk About BTS, Baby

happy sunday loves~

i decided to take a two week break because i had my first exam and practical recently. it is important to me that i do really well in this class, so i really needed to focus and study hard.

with that being said, i have another exam tomorrow, but couldn’t pass up on another week of blogging, or else i’ll make it into a bad habit (again).

so, for today’s post, it is going to be a really easy one! in today’s blog post, i am going to be talking a little bit about BTS’s new album Map of the Soul: 7.

What is it Really Like to Live with Your Significant Other?

Photo by Logan Nolin on Unsplash

hello lovelies~

Happy Saturday, I hope all is good and well!

It has been roughly three months since I have moved in with my boyfriend, and it has been good to say the least. Honestly, I was really worried that our living styles would not align properly, even though we have been together for seven years, and practically went through many life changes together.

In today’s post, I will be talking about my experiences to date – both good and ugly. I will also include a few words of advice (based off my experience) in attempt to help ease your worries of moving in with your significant other, or to help make living with your significant other more doable.

5 Tips to Survive Spring in Texas

** As written on Her Campus UNT **

Unlike most parts of the country, spring is a very unpredictable time for us in the deep south. Siri and Alexa may tell you one thing, then you get to your destination and it’s either too hot, too cold, or too wet. For us university students, this inconsistency can set a negative, or uncomfortable, tone to our day.

Here are 5 tips for surviving spring in Texas.
