#042522: Grad School Update

hello loves! long time, no see!

it has been around seven months since my last post, and to be completely honest, i forgot that i had various social media platforms to manage. as many of you know, i started graduate school and am pursing my doctorate of physical therapy.

school in itself has been challenging, especially this previous trimester. therefore, i have not had much time to dedicate to myself, much less my hobbies. however, that is not what i want. what i experienced with my emotions and mental state was similar to my undergraduate career, and that is something that i did not want to go back to.

so, i will try my hardest to find a better balance this next trimester. for starters, i need to get back to journaling regularly but sometimes it is difficult to pick up a pen and write legibly when i don’t necessarily have to. so, maybe i will use my blog as a digital journal as well!

anyways, life around school has been hectic. i decided to run for an officer position for one of the university’s organizations, and planning for events and managing things are apart of my responsibilities for the rest of the year. so far, we have had roughly three successful events. however, we are lacking in certain areas compared to our predecessors. so, i will be working harder to help fulfill those responsibilities.

this trimester was challenging as we, as a cohort, had to juggle our last term of general anatomy and musculoskeletal I: introduction to orthopedics. anatomy is demanding in itself, but to pair it with MSK was too much to handle. MSK is one of our first “real” courses where we have to apply different ways of thinking and utilize new terminology and skills. now that i have successfully completed the course, the material taught was not as challenging as i had originally thought. however, the course structure made it difficult to make improvements in terms of your grade percentages.

my program is also very specific with certain details that other program may not focus much on. regardless, a good majority of the class struggled together, and i found comradery in other classmates. so far, i have not heard of any bad news — which i am grateful for.

for the next two weeks, i will be off and recuperating for the next trimester. for the next term, i will be in two neurologic courses, MSK II, differential diagnosis, pharmacology, and a couple others. it will be a crammed term, similar to this previous one, but i am determined to be ahead and on top of my studies and asynchronous material. i am nervous for the intensity, but i am more prepared for it compared to the previous.

in the meantime, i hope to work on some of my hobbies and get back to doing things that i enjoy in my free-time!

for this next week, i will be preoccupied with work and visiting family members, but for the most part, i plan to be more active on M.A.N. and my other social media outlets. in regards to my blog, i plan to be more relaxed with it. for the longest time, i was concerned about the theme, the look, and the overall content that i was interested in writing in. when i first created this platform, it was based off my interests and what i wanted to talk about — without anything too specific.

surprisingly, it did really well (all things considered)! so, i wish to return to that mindset.

i hope you will join me in my little corner of the internet! until next time~

with love, Joslyn

study vlog ep.1 ✎ prepping for grad school

Hello loves! I know that posting on a Thursday is a little random, but I have been working on this vlog for quite some time now and was wanting too share it with you! Recently, I have been working on my Peachy Academy series where I go into detail about my educational experiences. Although this specific post is more for entertainment, I do mention and include some study aids that I liked using as an undergraduate student!

In this study vlog, I share with you some of the ways I have been prepping for physical therapy school. There are many things that are needed in order to prepare for graduate school, especially if you are like me and have been out of school for some time. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this post and let me know what you would like to see next!

#072221: Update + Empty Apartment Tour

2021 has thrown us so many curve balls, and i am exhausted from it all.
anyways, hello loves!

i know it has been a while since i last posted on this platform, but know that i have been fairly absent from my social media presence.
in my last update, i had been very enthusiastic in terms of getting my brand cleaned up and functional again. however, many things have happened since my last update….

in today’s post, i will be going into more detail about what’s been happening, and i also wanted to share a vlog i had been working on for a while. the vlog will briefly mention the events that occurred after our initial move, but i will go into more detail below.

Life Update #082420

happy monday! it has been a little while since i last posted anything on the blog. if you follow me on instagram, then you may already have an inkling as to why i have been missing for the past few months. however, i can’t believe that it has been since april?!

as always, i sincerely apologize for vanishing off the face of the earth…
my original plan was to complete my summer class, take about a week off, and then return sometime in july. but my comeback was delayed because i am currently undergoing the application processes. it is not my first rodeo in regards to applying to professional school; however, i decided to fully reflect on myself, scrapped my essays, and basically started from square one.

on top of completing my applications, i decided to pick up another job to get more experience in my desired field of work. now, i have the opportunity to learn and work within an inpatient and acute care setting. between my orientation, training, and my other job, my spare time has been filled with lots of naps and avatar: the last airbender.

needless to say, i am more than ready to come back to my hobbies, and create pieces just for fun!

lately, i have been feeling overwhelmed and drained with everything. it will be nice to dedicate more time to my blog, social media, and anything else that is not school or work related. life is constantly moving, and we sometimes get overly caught up in its motions. without realizing it, we can feel all of the extremes and struggle with managing even our most mundane tasks — even more so during this weird time.

overall, i would like to thank you all for being as patient as ever! i know my following is quite small, but i still feel guilty for my disappearance.
i would like to write more (seeing as how i have postponed this blog post for quite some time), however it is currently midnight, and i can feel my train of thought slipping.

i look forward to our next encounter~

I Did a Thing + Life Update

hello loves, and welcome back to M. A. N.~
i hope you’re doing well, during this time, and that you’re staying safe and healthy.

it has been about a month since i last uploaded a blog post, and i sincerely apologize. with everything that is going on, i needed time to adjust, and wanted to make sure that i was okay with the changes before getting back into the swing of posting on the regular.

if you haven’t noticed — i purchased my domain! after five years, i finally own my domain, and have access to many more features that WordPress provides. so, be on the look out for the changes that will be made! with that being said, i would appreciate if you remain patient with me as i finalize the schedule, design, mood, color scheme, etc.

in today’s post, i will be going into detail about the changes i would like to make with M. A. N., and i will also update you with everything that is currently going on in my life. this update will explain why i have been distant for the past month, and i hope that it will justify my sudden absence.

Greetings Loves!
It has been about a week and a half since I finished the semester, and I have recharged! I am ready to make a come back on my blog and youtube channel.

But first, while I’m waiting for my first video to render, should I solidify my schedule, or keep it on a “whenever I can” type schedule?

The options for a solid schedule include:

  • 1x a week: Friday; Saturday; or Sunday
  • 2x a week: Wednesday + Saturday
  • 2x a week: Friday + Sunday
  • 3x a week: Wednesday + Friday + Saturday

Realistically speaking, 1x or 2x a week is more my speed, but if you would like to see me try to push out 3x a week — I can make it work!

With that being said, I am graduating from my undergraduate journey in May 2019, so I would prefer my blog to be fully functional by that time.
This blog was originally suppose to be my creative outlet, and it still is; however, during the past 3.5 years, it was a struggle for me to adjust with school and trying to find time for everything.

During this winter break, I am really looking forward to getting everything in order, and returning back to good habits of being happy and productive!

Get ready, because I will be trying to push out more quality content!

With Love, Joslyn

2018 is My Year

Happy New Years Loves~

I’m going to give 2018 everything I have, with little to no excuses. This past year wasn’t so bad, but it was a year of compromises. I compromised my creativity for my education, and I felt incomplete. I compromised my friendships and college experiences for meaningless work and unnecessary commitments. 2017 had it’s pros and cons, and I feel like I’ve managed, however, I want to thriveContinue reading 2018 is My Year

Happy December Y’all!

Once again — long time no see. December is finally here, and that means my fall semester is coming to an end. I don’t know how many times I’ve apologized about being absent, and I honestly don’t know when I will stop.

Life has been crazy, and it’s been a constant and vicious cycle. But, I am hoping to get back into the groove of things soon. Here’s what I’ve got planned:

  • Vlogging:
I think this will be the easiest way to just create content, and it will also help me capture the moments as a college student
  • Writing Shorts:
Before blogging, I was really big on writing my own short stories and novellas; and recently, I’ve been getting an itch to write and read more. Again, this will help me create content when I’m just in a bloggers funk.
  • Filming:
Aside from vlogging, I’ve also been craving the need to film Youtube videos again. Currently, I have some content that just needs to be edited, but overall I really want to film and editing something really nice.
  • Designing New Layout:
For the longest time ever, I really wanted to create a custom domain for My Authentic Nature, with an elevated look. As you can tell, from the list above, my blog is a place for me to be creative. Therefore, there isn’t just one “theme” or subject content. My Authentic Nature is my digital playground.

Overall, I just really want — and need — to be creative. I am just burnt out from the requirements of my degree and pre-requisites to get into graduate school. I am still figuring out a better posting-schedule, but once I get it finalized, I will let you know. It is likely that I will adjust my schedule based off my school schedule, so it will vary from time to time. Of course, I will keep you updated with everything!

With Love, Joslyn Pham
